- Jean Ayoub, GE Energy Mr. Ayoub received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Electrical Power Systems from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1985 and 1987, respectively. He is a Lead Power Systems Engineer with General Electric Co., GE Energy, in Hanover, MD in charge of implementing power systems protection; power quality, and arc flash hazard analysis projects. Mr. Ayoub co-authored several technical papers in the areas of load flow, motor protection, power quality, and power factor correction. He is a Member of the IEEE-1584 Working Group.
- Ajit Bapat, i-Gard Mr. Bapat is well known in the electrical distribution field in North America, having served over 36 years in the industry with Schneider Electric and latterly i-Gard Corporation prior to his retirement. His expertise in the art and science of ground fault protection is well recognized and acknowledged and he holds Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems and Power System Protection, and has particular interest in ground fault protection, digital metering systems, microprocessor based integrated systems for protection, metering, monitoring and control of power distribution systems. He has been an instructor at Seneca and University of Toronto and has taught courses in Power Distribution. He is an instructor for EPIC and conducts continuing education courses in Electrical Power Distribution topics. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, senior member of the IEEE, and was the Central Canada Council Chair of Region 7 of IEEE for 2006.
- John DeDad, DeDad Consulting, LLC, Huntington, CT Mr. DeDad is President of Dedad Consulting, LLC, a private company that provides consulting, market research, and technical writing services, and design reviews to the electrical construction industry. Mr. DeDad has over 40 years experience in the electrical construction industry, including electrical system design, technical writing, education and training, and field supervision and project management. He was Senior Editorial Director for Penton Media’s Electrical and Energy Group Magazines (EC&M Magazine; Electrical Marketing Newsletter; ElectricalZone, PQNewsBeat, and Electrical CodeWatch e-newsletters) and Conference Director of EC&M Seminars. He was with Penton Business Media since 1989. Mr. DeDad holds memberships in NSPE, IES, IEEE, and NFPA. Mr. DeDad has co-authored the book Practical Guide to Applying Low-Voltage Fuses and authored the books Practical Guide to Quality Power for Sensitive Electronic Equipment, Practical Guide to Ground Fault Protection, and Practical Guide to Hazardous (Classified) Locations. He also co-authored the IEEE Industry Application Society’s 2005 Committee Prize Paper Short-Term, Long-Term Energy Storage Methods for Standby Electric Power Systems.
- Benjamin Medich, P.E., Ballinger A&E Mr. Medich is a Senior Project Electrical Engineer and Associate at Ballinger in Philadelphia. He holds a BSEE degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a licensed professional engineer in seven states. In his 12+ years of experience, Mr. Medich has designed and analyzed electrical systems for scientific, academic, and healthcare clients including Corning, Merck & Co., Inc., Temple University, and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
- Peter Walsh, P.E., Ferraz Shawmut Mr. Walsh is a registered Professional Engineer with more than 25 years of professional engineering experience. He is a long-term member of IEEE and a speaker at IEEE meetings. He was member of the National Electrical Code CMP #4 helping to write the 2008 code. He also has a membership with NFPA and IAEI. His BS degree in Electrical Engineering is from WPI and his MBA degree is from Suffolk University. He is currently the Senior Field Engineer for Ferraz-Shawmut in the Northeast.
